DR. ROPER

Dr. Roper is an Assistant Professor of Environmental Toxicology at the University of Mississippi in the Department of BioMolecular Sciences. Her research is focused on improving environmental health through the robust characterization of air pollutants.

 

POSTDOCTORAL RSEARCHERS

Beau Black

B.S. Forensic Chemistry; Ph.D. Analytical Chemistry with an emphasis in Forensics

Beau joined the lab in July 2019 and is playing an integral role in organizing the lab and methods development for the chemical characterization of fine particulate matter. Long-term he intends to pursue a career in forensic method development, research, and casework at the federal level.

Fun Facts: I won World Champion and #1 in the Nation titles with my horse Faith; I've helped write and edit a forensic book that I collect royalties from; I've been interviewed on live radio

 

POSTDOCTORAL RSEARCHERS

Hang Nguyen

B.S. Computer Science; M.S. Applied Mechanics with a focus on Air Quality Modeling; Ph.D. Air Pollution

Hang joined the lab in February 2020 and is interested in air pollution and investigating the behavior of particulate matter and gaseous pollutants (e.g., Hg, NOx, SO2) in various ambient environmental settings, estimating exposure to volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from indoor sources, and is currently focused on pollutant modeling particulate emissions from various sources.
